The Tale of the Misunderstood Squirrel

"My name is ….Ooh a nut. Sorry, where was I, I’m Charlie the squirrel. I love scurrying around, jumping from fence to fence. I always got very hungry in the park, where I used to live, as all the other squirrels collected the nuts faster than I could. So I decided it was time to move. In the dead of night I crossed the now empty road to a street which from now on I would call home. I found a nice garden to sleep in and quickly made myself at home. The people next door were even kind enough to leave me bits of food to nibble on. But the family who owns the garden don’t like me. One woman has labelled me ‘the evil squirrel’, shouts at me, threaten to shoot me with a water pistol *sob sob*. What have I ever done to her? I don’t see her very often so hopefully I will be able to scurry in peace. If you visit and keep a keen eye out maybe you will see me. Until then, goodbye."

Womecdotes

See how many you know.

You have been Wommed, don’t do it again!

A rolling Wom gathers no moss.

It takes Wom to know Wom.

A Wom in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Easier said than Wom.

Great Wom’s think alike.

Home is where Wom is.

Many Wom’s make light work.

One good Wom deserves another.

Put all your Wom’s in one basket.

Wom is mightier than the sword.

Too many Wom’s spoil the broth.

Two Wom’s don’t make a right.

Where there’s a Wom, there’s a way.

Where, where, where, where's Wom, a where's Wom?

Wom's cycling adventure

Wom went for a holiday on the Isle of Wight and decided to hire a bike so he could take himself out for a ride. He found his nearest cycle track and was on his way. Sandown was not very far away so he headed in the other direction, towards Newport. The bike was a bit big for him but he soon got used to it and quite enjoyed the pleasent ride through the countyside. While crossing a bridge he spied a small boat and decided to stop to take a closer look.
Round the corner Wom spotted a bike his own size and thought he might give it a try.
Wom got tired and decided to take a break and have some lunch. He found a friend to hold him up by the sign so he could see how far he had traveled, WOW a whole 4 1/4 miles for a wombat. That is impressive. After his yummy lunch he started the journey home. Once home he was worn out so had an early night zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Wom's Adventure to Campus

Wom was curious about students so he took a journey up to campus. He booked his ticket on the local transportation system and was on his way.The ride took almost 20 minutes and was very enjoyable. He entered the lecture theater and sat down. He was confused why the whole class were facing the wrong way!!
The lecture was fun but Wom found it hard to make notes so he just listened. Then the lecture was over so he made a speedy exit and slid down the stairs, weeeeeee.
Wom waited for the transportation home but it was delayed because of a breakdown. So he decided to make his own way.
On the journey he got tired so he hitched a ride with one of the many back-packers common to the area.
The back-packer was stopping at the next building so Wom asked to get off,but the silly back-packer put him down on a wall!! 'How am I going to get down from here?!'
A friendly passer-by came to Wom's rescue and brought him back down to earth. As Wom travelled over many different types of terrain he came accross a strange colour hole. Having watched a war film on t.v the day before he deduced it was a grenade hole and thought it best to move on, swiftly.
Wom passed a news stand and the 'Summer fashion' advert caught his eye so he picked up a free copy.
Wom came accross a swimming pool. Luckily he had brought his swimwear so he took a quick dip. The water was pleasently warm.
It was getting quite late so Wom thought it best to carry on his journey home. Five minutes later he found a strange furry lifeform. 'Wom Wom.....Meow??'.They quickly became friends but communication would need a bit of work.
Wom could see the train station so he was almost home. He perched himself on a post and thought 'From here I look like a train, chuga chuga woo wooo', sadly he was mistaken, and quickly remember he was a wombat, not a train.
Wom had arrived home and opened the door. It late and Wom was getting hungry, 'Time for dinner'.
The End

Talking of adventures...

Last night I definitely had one!!
My housemate, H, woke me at about 2 in the morning as she was feeling unwell and panicky and having trouble breathing. Long story short (I wont embarrass her too much!) we ending up ringing a taxi to take us to A&E.
It was bizarre, I hadn't been there before but she had on a couple of occasions, but it definitely smelt familiar to me. I reckon all hospitals must smell pretty much the same. By this time it was about 4am and i was really sleepy but all I could think about was when I had been in hospital 15 years earlier, for an extended stay. It brought back all the happy memories, not the sad or scary ones, and was quite reassuring really.
She ended up being put on a nebuliser to calm her breathing, which is also a bit of a childhood memory as my sister Debs has been on a nebuliser many times before so I vaguely knew what to expect and could explain it to H who had never experienced it before.
After that she was mostly fine, though very shivery, apparently due to the meds. We got a taxi back home, now in the morning dawn which was confusing, and headed slowly back to bed.
Needless to say, I haven't done much since and my brain is still a bit foggy!!
Now I'm off to a restaurant for chocolate puddings as part of the handing over of the chocolate society commitee. Will attempt to take some fun pictures to show you.
Hope you have a less eventful day then me.
